Tring Arts Festival supporting Pepper
Thursday 5th June saw the opening of the 2008 Tring Festival Art Exhibition with a preview night. Organised by Cherrie Gallagher and a new group, Tring Visual Arts, the exhibition featured work by 26 local artists displaying more than 100 pieces.
The exhibition ran until June 15th, and if the preview night was anything to go by attracting over 100 people, the event obviously was a huge success.
The organisers and the artists supported Pepper with contributions from sales and a raffle, which totaled at the end of the show an impressive £1397.
During the preview, Jonathan Tweed, Chairman of the Pepper Foundation, thanked everyone for their support and generosity when he opened the show not realizing how much the event was later to generate. He outlined how important the money raised will be to the charity, as it costs around £290 a day to fund a Pepper nurse to enable them to continue their essential work.
Among the guests was Mike James the Mayor of Tring, and Councillor and Mrs Brian Ayling, Mayor of Dacorum until May 2008. 3rd August 2009 Recent News |
