Around 40 Pepper Supporters enjoyed an evening of jazz and curry at the Taj Mahal in Berkhamsted on Thursday 25 September – and what an evening it turned out to be! We sampled superb Indian cuisine while listening to the music of Ian Harrison and Sparky’s All Stars. Even better, after a few numbers Ian was joined by Tina May, regarded by many in the know as the UK’s Number 1 female jazz singer. The evening was a real treat for those present: great food, intimate surroundings and “Premier League” jazz which would have graced any top venue. In addition to a donation of £230 from Khalique at the Taj Mahal, a raffle held during the evening raised a further £170. Our thanks to Khalique for hosting the evening, and to Ian for masterminding the music – and a big thank you to Tina for her wonderful performance. Khalique has offered to host more evenings for Pepper, so if you like jazz and Indian food, watch this space.23rd July 2009 |
