Calling all Pepper Volunteers
The appeal we launched in 2007 was a huge success with over 150 people showing interest in joining the Pepper Volunteers, many of whom have already made an important contribution to the running of the Charity - thank you.
However, we do not want to be complacent and so we still need to keep our options open to attract new people to move the charity forward beyond this our 20th Anniversary year. Therefore, would you like to join Pepper Events Limited (PEL)? The board of PEL has vacancies for new members who can help with fundraising to support the Pepper Nursing Service.
Throughout the latter part of 2008 and the start of 2009, the present team will be particularly stretched organising existing events which is why there is an urgent need for more people to be involved to help ease the strain. No previous experience is necessary - just a good sense of humour to put the FUN into FUNdraising, some good ideas for new events and a commitment of your time. Work will soon begin on planning the 2009 show therefore we shall be looking for help there as well, so if you were captivated by the 2008 show and would like to take part behind the scenes, this message applies to you!

Remember, Pepper is run completely by volunteers – except for the Pepper Nurses who are managed by the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home, whose service we need to fund to ensure our children are cared for on a 24 hour at-home basis.
Right now, over 30 children are receiving at home care from the Pepper Nurses. All of them have life-limiting illnesses and, sadly, some of them may not have long to live which makes it even more important to ensure the Pepper Nursing Service continues to provide the much needed care for each child and support for their families within our community.
To enable us to continue providing this service, Pepper need to raise £295,000 each year to keep the Pepper Nurses on the road.
Any amount of time you can spare in whatever capacity will enable us to continue our fundraising efforts to ensure Pepper has a bright future.
