Donate & Help A Child This Christmas

No child wants to be in hospital for Christmas.

For a child with a life-limiting condition, a wish this year could be something as simple as wanting to wake up in their own bed on Christmas morning.

This festive season, The Pepper Foundation will be helping families spend quality time together by ensuring that the Children’s Hospice at Home service by Rennie Grove Hospice Care is fully funded and able to support families with the simple things that make quality time together possible this festive season.

Affecting the whole family

When a child has a life-limiting condition, it has an effect on the whole family – parents, siblings, grandparents, and extended family. It can mean that families are unable to do some of the things that most families take for granted.

At Christmas and during the festive season, parents might struggle to meet friends for an evening out, or attend a family Christmas party. At other times, this could mean a day trip to the zoo as a family or going to the cinema to see a film. For other family members, a child’s life-limiting condition might mean that siblings are not able to spend playtime together, or grandparents are unable to visit.

All Year Round

The Children’s Hospice at Home service helps families all year round, and that doesn’t stop for Christmas; the team is there for families over the festive season in the same way that it is at any other time of the year.

£30 pays for an hour of specialist hospice at home care, which could help a child with a life-limiting condition spend their Christmas at home with their family, rather than in a hospital.
