The Boxmoor Santa Dash
The holiday season is a time for spreading cheer and goodwill. A great way to add a little different festive fun with family and friends in the season of goodwill, is by getting decked out in a Christmas-themed costume and participating in a Santa-themed fun run.
Well this festive season the Pepper Foundation has teamed up with G&F Events to put on the very first Boxmoor Santa Dash! The fun run takes place on Sunday 26th November 2023, and is a 5k route around the Box Moor Trust Snooks Moor site in Hemel Hempstead. The route is flat so is suitable for people of all ages and abilities; plus the route resembles even resembles a Christmas cracker! There’s also a 2.5km Elf Dash for your little ones!
After the run, there’s a festive fun day at the Box Moor Trust Centre where you will find a Santa’s Grotto, hot food vendors, and even a fully licensed bar serving a selection of alcoholic beverages, hot drinks and soft drinks.
And don’t forget, that everyone gets a finishers medal too!

Festive fun and staying active!
What better way to kick off the holiday season than by dressing up in a festive themed costume and spreading the spirit of Christmas through running? It’s a great way to keep fit and active ahead of the holiday season, offsetting some of those indulgent holiday treats.
If you’re thinking about doing a ‘couch to 5k’, the Boxmoor Santa Dash is the perfect goal to work towards as your end goal.
Embracing the Festive Spirit
One thing you’ll want to decide on early is your costume. You could opt for a full on Santa outfit, or maybe you want to go as Will Ferrell’s character from the film ‘Elf’, it’s up to you how creative you get! But if you’re just feeling a Santa hat and a white beard, that’s great, you’ll still look the part.
Remember, if you’re wearing anything extra-festive you might need account for that on your run; bigger costumes can be warmer to run in, sometimes cause friction, or can add some extra challenge to the run. Always remember to wear appropriate shoes for running. Whatever you wear, it’ll be like you’re part of a magical festive parade; it’s a unique running experience!
